Welcome to the WFIRST Dark Energy Performance Calculator (WFDEPC)
Welcome to the WFIRST Exposure Time Calculator (WFETC)
WFDEPC is the Web-based interface for the Wide-Field Infrared Survey Telescope's Dark Energy Performance Calculator. The Calculator is intended for use in optimizing the WFIRST hardware and observing strategy. It runs in three different modes: Gravitational Weak Lensing (WL), Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations (BAO), and Photometric Red Shift Calibration Survey (PZCAL). In each case, it uses known galaxy properties to predict limiting magnitudes and statistical properties (e.g. number counts or redshift distribution) of sources that could be detected by WFIRST (and resolved, in the case of WL). For a full explanation of the functionality, see the
WFDEPC Reference Manual
.
WFETC is the Web-based interface for the Wide-Field Infrared Survey Telescope's Exposure Time Calculator. The Calculator is based upon Chris Hirata's "Space-Based Galaxy Survey Exposure Time Calculator" code, intended for use in optimizing the WFIRST hardware and observing strategy. The code is also the basis for the
WFIRST Dark Energy Performance Calculator
. For a full explanation of the functionality, see the
WFETC Reference Manual

Press "Submit" to activate the calculation. Results will appear in this window.
Please be patient. Requests will take at least several minutes to run (~3.0 mins for BAO / ~8.5 mins for WL).
Using the email option will free up the GUI and send you an email notification when the calculation has completed.
